Illegal Mining | Operations continue unhindered in Mmakau

Illegal mining operations, allegedly linked to municipal employees, are continuing unchecked in Mmakau Block 7, on the border of the Gauteng and North West provinces. Community members say repeated complaints to police, tribal authorities, the Madibeng Municipality, and government departments have yielded no intervention, despite promises of a joint police operation over a month ago.
