Palestine Solidarity Committee observes Nakba Day

Rally at the Castle of Good Hope organised by the Palestine Solidarity Committee to observe Nakba Day. It commemorates the 1948 Palestinian catastrophe, when hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were displaced following the creation of Israel.

The day was officially designated by Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat in 1998, though Palestinians had been marking it with protests and remembrance since 1949.
