Kiandutu Slum Residents, Thika Women Prison Inmates Empowered With Income-Generating Skills

Residents of Kiandutu Slum and Thika Women Prison inmates in Kiambu County have been equipped with practical skills such as the production of packaging bags, envelopes, book covers, and other eco-friendly products to generate income and promote self-reliance. The program launched by Jamii products aims to train inmates in 140 prisons across Kenya, and so far, they have successfully trained participants in 10 prisons. The program is not only part of rehabilitation and social reintegration but also brings together youths, young mothers and fathers, parents, persons with disabilities, and orphans.
