Residents call for help as illegal mining operations continue in Madibeng Municipality

Illegal mining operations allegedly linked to municipal employees are continuing unchecked in Mmakau Block 7, on the border of Gauteng and North West.

Community members say repeated complaints to police, tribal authorities, the Madibeng Municipality, and government departments have yielded no intervention, despite promises of a joint police operation over a month ago.
