It is a fact that there were differing views among some members regarding the situation in West Asia. Members shared their respective national positions and expressed a range of perspectives on the issue.

The views articulated included the need for an early resolution of the current crisis, the importance of dialogue and diplomacy, respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity, adherence to international law, ensuring the safe and unimpeded flow of maritime commerce through international waterways, and the protection of civilian infrastructure and lives.

Since you asked about the perspectives of other members, I would also add that there was a meaningful discussion on the consequences of the situation for the global economy. Several members emphasized this aspect during the discussions.

As I mentioned earlier, as chair, our responsibility is to facilitate dialogue and discussion among members and to build consensus wherever possible. We were able to build consensus on almost all issues, which is reflected in the outcome document that we have transparently shared.
