Water crisis undermines Thika town’s rapid urban expansion

Residents of Thika Kiambu County, have mounted pressure on authorities to resolve the growing water crisis threatening to undermine the town’s rapid urban expansion. The industrial town is currently facing a daily water deficit of more than 20,000 cubic metres, with demand far outstripping supply as population growth and industrialisation continue to surge.
