Youth Month | SACC marks 1976 Youth Uprising with prayer walk in Soweto

The South African Council of Churches (SACC) is today commemorating the 1976 Soweto Youth Uprising with a prayer walk through Soweto.

Beyond remembering the sacrifices of the youth of 1976, faith leaders are also praying for peace ahead of a planned march on 30 June which has called for action on undocumented immigrants.

The Council says the prayers are aimed at promoting unity, non-violence and social cohesion.
