Fraud case against EMPD officer Adrian MacKenzie postponed to 16 July

The robbery with aggravated circumstances and fraud case against EMPD officer Adrian MacKenzie, and security boss, Etienne van der Walt, will be back in court on 16 July.

MacKenzie was arrested on Friday, while Van der Walt handed himself in yesterday.

The two, along with others, allegedly raided an apartment in Killarney under the false pretence of a legitimate police operation.

After stealing precious stones worth more than R14-million, the group allegedly sold the valuable minerals for just R110,000, with each of the five participants pocketing roughly R22,000.
