Paxton wins TX primary: CNN's first reactions

Weeks after securing President Trump’s endorsement, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton won the GOP Senate primary runoff.

After his loss, Paxton's primary opponent, Sen. John Cornyn, said he respect Texas voters’ decision and that he intends to support the Republican ticket in November, although he didn’t name his rival by name.

Meanwhile, the campaign arm for Senate Democrats said that Attorney General Ken Paxton’s win in the Texas Senate runoff puts them “one step closer to winning a Senate majority.”
