Board of peace envoy delivers stark warning on Gaza’s future

The official in charge of implementing the US-brokered ceasefire deal in Gaza warned on Wednesday that failure to advance the agreement risks entrenching “a dangerous status quo.” Referring to Israel’s “yellow line” of separation in Gaza that continues to expand, Nickolay Mladenov said failing to advance the next phases of the ceasefire would entrench Israel’s long-term presence in Gaza and leave two million Palestinians without a viable future.
