The case against Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala and co-accused has been postponed to the 26th of June 2026 for further financial investigations, verification and disclosure of the docket. Matlala is tried with 15 others face charges of fraud, corruption and money laundering. The charges are linked to the R228 million Medicare 24 tender and reports suggests that that proper procurement processes were not followed. There are also allegations that senior SAPS officials were bribed. The contract was later cancelled due to the irregularities. Suspended SAPS Commissioner General Fannie Masemola is accused no 17 in the matter, he is charged with contravention of the Public Finance Management Act.
