The state has told the Pinetown Magistrate's Court that NCC leader and MP Fadiel Adams repeatedly interfered with a key state witness in the case against him.
KwaZulu-Natal deputy director of public prosecutions Advocate Lawrence Gcaba is presenting the state's argument opposing Adams' bail application. Gcaba told the court Adams contacted the person who assisted him in arranging meetings with the accused in high-profile cases while they were in custody at Westville prison.
Gcaba has therefore dismissed Adams' assertion in his affidavit that he does not know who the state witnesses are.
Court has adjourned to Friday to continue with bail application.
