Severe weather classified as a National Disaster

Severe weather across several South African provinces has claimed at least 10 lives. The extreme weather conditions, battering several provinces, have led to a national state of disaster being declared. Key affected areas include the Western Cape and Eastern Cape, with widespread damage to infrastructure.
