The commission is hearing testimony relating to the Aeroton drug bust, which took place in Johannesburg in 2021, where a 715-kilogram cocaine consignment was intercepted by police. Evidence before the Commission has suggested that the first officers on the scene did not have the necessary crime scene management skills required for such an operation.
