* Residents in the City of Cape Town are counting the costs after the adverse weather conditions that prevailed since the weekend damaged their properties. The City says more than 83-thousand people residing in over 21-thousand dwellings have been left destitute. All schools in the province will meanwhile reopen today.

* Suspended National Police Commissioner, General Fannie Masemola, is expected to join controversial businessman Vusimuzi "Cat" Matlala in the dock at the Pretoria Magistrate's Court today. Masemola faces charges of contravening the Public Finance Management Act.

* National Coloured Congress MP - Fadiel Adams - is expected to apply for bail in the Pinetown Magistrates Court today after being arrested last week.
He is facing charges of fraud and defeating the ends of justice.

* US President Donald Trump is on his way to China for a highly anticipated summit with Chinese President Xi Jinping, following through with a meeting Trump delayed due to the war with Iran. Trade is set to be a major topic for the two leaders.
