A spring picnic in Beijing with American friends: Different pastries, shared moments of joy

In the biggest canola flower field in #Beijing, three young people from China and the #US spent a spring afternoon talking about culture, food, tastes and the little differences that shape everyday life.
From food to language, from ways of expressing care to ideas of community, the conversation reminded us that people may grow up differently but often feel more connected than we imagine.
Sometimes, understanding another #culture simply begins with spending time together.
