Meet the newest student at AGH University in Krakow: the humanoid robot Barbara.

She has been attending university only for a couple of weeks but has already become a star, stealing the spotlight from professors and students alike.

She is primed to become an assistant at the university, and Joanna Jaworek-Korjakowska, Director of the Center of Excellence in Artificial Intelligence at AGH University, says "it's a great opportunity for the university to program Barbara and prepare it for different tasks."

At the moment, researchers are trying to develop her speech system and teach her more complicated movements like grabbing a hand, but soon enough she might prepare the way for highly efficient cooperation between humans and robots.
