Bosnia faces political uncertainty after high representative resignation

Bosnia and Herzegovina is facing growing political uncertainty after the surprise resignation announcement of the country’s High Representative — one of the most powerful international figures overseeing the post-war peace framework.

The High Representative plays a crucial role in implementing the Dayton Peace Agreement, with powers that can override local political decisions and carry the force of law.

Although the resignation was officially linked to personal reasons, many analysts see it as a symbolic victory for Bosnian Serb leader Milorad Dodik, who has long campaigned against the office and challenged its legitimacy.
