Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw today highlighted India’s ambitious high-speed rail push while addressing the CII Annual Business Summit. Union Minister Vaishnaw announced that once completed, the Mumbai-Pune high-speed corridor will reduce travel time to just 48 minutes. The Pune-Hyderabad route will take 1 hour 55 minutes, while Hyderabad-Bengaluru will be covered in only 2 hours 8 minutes.Vaishnaw noted that these routes will be dominated by railways, significantly impacting short-haul air travel, similar to experiences in Japan, China, and South Korea.
