*Pressure is piling on President Cyril Ramaphosa to resign following the Constitutional Court ruling overturning Parliament's rejection of the Section 89 Panel Report in December 2022.
The Apex Court ordered that an Impeachment Committee be established to investigate any possible wrongdoing on the part of Ramaphosa in the Phala Phala farm theft saga.
The EFF, ActionSA and ATM want the President to resign, while the MK Party has called for a motion of no confidence.

*The Madlanga Commission will resume its public hearings with a new witness on the stand.
The witness is expected to give evidence that continues with the stream of drug seizures by South African law enforcement agencies, as well as the handling and theft or disappearance of narcotic substances in KwaZulu-Natal and Gauteng.

*The department of Education in the Western Cape has taken a decision to close 122 schools in the Cape Winelands Education District today due to inclement weather.
In addition, 11 schools in the Eden and Central Karoo Education District will remain closed due to the impact of last week's storm in the Garden Route.

*The final two flights to evacuate passengers from the cruise ship hit by a deadly hantavirus outbreak docked near Tenerife will depart this afternoon, Spain's health minister said yesterday, adding that 94 passengers had been evacuated so far.
