Unbreakable | Wreckage, remembrance and friendship

After the US Doolittle Raid of 1942, American pilots who crash-landed in Quzhou were rescued by local villagers, and they never forgot the bonds formed in the eastern Chinese city. In 2008, when an aging veteran wished to have a piece of his downed aircraft as a memento, a fragment of the plane was recovered and sent to the US in a heartfelt gesture that reflected an enduring friendship forged during the war.
