My wife and I are getting more money in a state refund then we got in this great tax season and that’s in Illinois. Federal which I have more taken out $200 back Illinois $400 back. Bite me paid over $9000 in Federal taxes. So they’re full of crap.

I’ve never understood why anyone would deliberately overpay their taxes to the government all year, then get excited when they get their own money back.<br>By definition, a big tax refund is just an interest-free loan to the government.<br>I’ve always adjusted my withholdings so I break even or owe just a small amount at tax time. I’d rather keep control of my own money so I can spend or invest it however I want.<br>When I hear co-workers standing around bragging about how much they’re getting back, I just laugh to myself. They have no idea how clueless they really are.
