When are we gonna start refactoring the "earn your life" model and transition to a post-labor world? People can do 4 year "tours of duty" in the Labor Force for necessary jobs, and that earns your social system access for life. Then everyone can get their lives and time back and spend it as they want instead of how the wealthy demand we spend it to earn our living.

This is diabolical. Tech companies are taking techniques, skills and abilities, potentially passed down (through generations of hand work), and using it without the informed consent or financial benefit of the worker (which is bad enough), to replace them, making them unemployed, with no ability to earn income. Absolutely diabolical.

AI leads to a more productive world where there is more wealth to go around than we will need to rethink how we distribute wealth. It will no longer be feasible to rely on salaries for people's livelihoods. The the fruits of the means of production must be distributed rather than allowing it to concentrate into the hands of trillionaires. There is a potential future where we take no action and 90% of the world is left destitute with a few individuals controlling absolutely everything.

Eh.. I dont see anything wrong with this. People need to quit fearing advancement and crying about their jobs getting replaced.. their are always going to be plenty of jobs out there.. to think otherwise is foolish. I suppose my only question is, why not just set up the camera to film the station itself, which most factories and businesses already do anyway.. instead of asking for someone to strap the camera on their head. Unless they specifically need the fpv perspective. This could also be used for advanced prosthetics for people with no limbs to be able to do work functions.

Journalists don't know what they're talking about. 😂 I'm sure some guy with no brain thinks he'll replace humans with machines. 😂 Not happening. Robots are different matter altogether. Humanoid robots are VERY expensive, very difficult to maintain, very expensive to maintain and aren't even close to replacing these workers. Other robots that are specifically designed might do a better job but it's a whole different process. 😂

I’m a factory worker I’m ok with this. People don’t do their job so I have to. I would happily replace my co worker with a robot. Because he can’t think and attempts too. That’s just not what I need. I shouldn’t explain to someone who has worked there 20+ years how to do the job.

I dare to argue that if working conditions are already dire, then maybe replacing humans with robots and then only using humans for robot maintenance, collecting new training data and error correction is a good development. I know the reality will probably be more dire first, but we have grown so accustomed to cheap labor that it seems that we are now defending it, just because we normalized it. Sorry for not being a doomsday thinker like everyone at all time in history. Video tapes were said to destroy the entire movie industry. Mobile phones were said to destroy our social life etc etc I'm not falling for this type of thinking again.
