Whistleblowers' plight in SA

Will the government's legislative reforms aimed at strengthening protection for whistleblowers encourage more South Africans to come forward and expose corruption?

The Justice and Constitutional Development Ministry recently unveiled changes to the law to provide whistleblowers with protection from financial ruin and even physical harm or death.

Government has acknowledged that fear of retaliation has become a deterrent to people wanting to blow the whistle on corruption in the country.

Today, SABC's Abra Barbier and Lucky Tsolo speak to someone who has been in this very difficult position.
