The uMkhonto weSizwe Party has formally given notice to the Speaker of the National Assembly, Thoko Didiza, of its intention to file for a motion of no confidence in President Cyril Ramaphosa.
This follows Friday's Constitional Court judgment which set aside the previous National Assembly's vote on the Phala Phala scandal.
The Apex court ruled that parliament's action is invalid and unconstitutional.
The party has asked that the motion be prioritised and voted upon within a reasonable period and without undue delay.
The MK Party has accused parliament of continuely failing to hold the President accountable and thereby undernmining the rule of law.
