Spain’s health minister and the head of the World Health Organization have traveled to Tenerife to oversee operations and reassure residents amid growing concern over a reported disease situation on the island.
Speaking publicly, WHO officials emphasized that the situation is not comparable to COVID-19 and stressed that the public health risk to local residents remains low.
Authorities are working to prevent panic while monitoring the situation closely and coordinating with international health experts.
