A family in Daveyton is mourning the brutal killing of their daughter after parts of her body were found in an open veld earlier this week.

The shocking discovery has once again raised concerns about gender-based violence and the safety of women and children in communities across the country.

The victim's family is calling for justice and for those responsible to be arrested.

Residents say several young women and teenagers have been murdered in the area over the years, leaving the community living in fear.
