Ruling reopens Phala Phala impeachment process

On the 13th of December 2022, 148 votes were cast by Members of Parliament in favour of the adoption of the Section 89 panel report recommending the establishment of a committee to look at the process to impeach President Cyril Ramaphosa.

Only two opposition parties, Al Jama-ah and COPE, voted with the ANC, rejecting the recommendation with 214 votes.

With today's Constitutional Court judgment, however, and with a Government of National Unity in place, the question is, what will the numbers look like now?
