Political parties welcome ConCourt Phala Phala ruling

Political parties have welcomed the Constitutional Court judgment that invalidated the December 2022 vote of the National Assembly, which turned down a proposal to establish an impeachment committee against President Cyril Ramaphosa.

The court has directed the National Assembly to establish an impeachment committee to probe the findings of the Section 89 independent panel report, which found that President Ramaphosa had a prima facie case to answer on the theft of foreign currency at his Phala Phala game farm in Limpopo.
