Fully automated in-vehicle clearance will be trialled at Tuas Checkpoint in the coming months, with plans to roll out across Singapore’s land borders from 2027. Drivers and passengers can scan QR codes or passports at kiosks along Automated Passenger Clearance System (APCS) lanes, with facial biometrics used for verification, said Coordinating Minister for National Security K Shanmugam at the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority's (ICA) workplan seminar on May 8.
Separately, AI-enabled iEnrol kiosks for self-service biometric enrolment will be trialled from the fourth quarter of 2026. https://cna.asia/42qsMzx
