Reuters reported, citing Meta’s internal documents, that scam and banned-product ads could have made up around 10% of Meta’s 2024 revenue. The documents said billions of users saw high-risk scam ads, including fake shopping and investment schemes. Meta was reportedly earning around $7 billion annually from such ads, despite internal warnings about suspicious advertisers.
