Parliament supports motion to ensure AI growth creates jobs

Parliament has passed a motion, pledging that the AI transition will not lead to jobless growth. The motion recognises AI’s role in driving the economy, while emphasising fairness and inclusion. It also calls for workers and firms to advance together. Manpower Minister Tan See Leng reassured MPs that the government will support the shift with concrete action. More than 20 MPs rose to speak in the debate that spanned over seven hours.
