* Heavy rain and wind are lashing the Garden Route and Little Karoo in the Western Cape, after a major storm made landfall late last night.

* The Madlanga Commission has heard that before the theft of more than 500 kilolgrams of cocaine from a Port Shepstone storage facility in KwaZulu Natal, there had been at least six well coordinated break in attempts.

* Fadiel Adams's family and National Coloured Congress leaders have joined his lawyers at the Westville Police Station in Durban. He is expected to be processed there after being arrested in Cape Town yesterday.

* A large group of people have marched against illegal immigrants in Durban, ending on Mahatma Gandhi Road - an area often associated with crime and urban decay.
