Warm welcome for young Northern Cape sprinter

The achievements of a young sprinter from the small village of Pella in the Northern Cape, has inspired children around the region.

Darrel Botes won a gold medal in the Boys U19 100m at the 2026 Autumn Athletics National School Sport Championships in Pretoria at the weekend.
He also managed a silver in the 200m.

Botes' achievement has brought hope to the children of Pella, proving that hard work pays off.
