Hundreds of Kenyans sue BP over toxic waste, cancer and polluted water

Around 300 people in eastern Kenya have filed a lawsuit against the government and the energy giant BP, alleging that their water sources were contaminated and toxic waste was dumped in their villages during the late 1980s.
Community members report that more than 500 people have died since then from illnesses they believe are linked to the alleged contamination.
