821-tonne LNG tank dome lifted into place in Hainan

An 821-tonne dome has been successfully lifted into place atop a new LNG storage tank in south China's Hainan Province. The tank is part of the Hainan #LNG Phase II expansion project. Instead of cranes, engineers used air pressure to raise the dome 43 meters, roughly the height of a 15-story building. This pneumatic lifting relies on controlled airflow to precisely elevate heavy structures. The expansion will double the facility's peak-shaving capacity, adding 400 million cubic meters of storage.
