SARS | Modernisation, Tax gap and Tax practitioners: Dr Johnstone Makhubu

SARS Commissioner Dr Johnstone Makhubu says he plans to accelerate initiatives started by his predecessor Edward Kieswetter, including expanding the tax base, targeting the illicit economy, and improving recovery of tax debt owed to SARS. He also says stronger engagement with industry, especially tax practitioners, will be a priority as they play a key role between taxpayers and SARS.
