Manus-Meta $2 billion deal blocked: The red line that money couldn't cross

On April 27, China formally blocked the proposed $2 billion acquisition of Chinese-founded AI startup Manus by US tech giant Meta, citing national security risks tied to data and technology. It was the first time China had halted a foreign acquisition in the AI sector. CGTN's Liu Jiaxin spoke with Zhang Linghan, director of the Institute of AI Law and Governance at China University of Political Science and Law, about the legal basis behind the red line that money couldn't cross.
