Alvin Tan clarifies incident raised by Jamus Lim on AVS’ handling of pet owner complaints

Members of Parliament (MPs) should present a full picture and avoid unfairly questioning public officers, said Minister of State for National Development Alvin Tan. Responding to Mr Tan, Sengkang GRC MP Jamus Lim said his job is to raise residents’ lived experiences and he believed he had done so accurately.

The exchange occurred after Mr Tan clarified events in parliament on Tuesday (May 5) involving a resident who alleged that the Animal and Veterinary Service (AVS) did not conduct investigations effectively and independently into the death of her pet, which Mr Tan called a “serious allegation”.
