No change to penalties now for late mandatory retrenchment notification submissions: Tan See Leng

Most companies are submitting retrenchment notices on time, so penalties aren’t increasing for now. About 80 per cent met the deadline in 2025, up from 70 per cent in 2024.

“We don’t see a need to raise the penalties at this point in time,” said Manpower Minister Tan See Leng in parliament on Tuesday (May 5). Authorities will still review enforcement if needed. #singapore #sgnews
