Higher Education and Training Minister Buti Manamela, will be hauled before Parliament's Higher Education oversight committee to account for the resignations of the National Student Financial Aid Scheme Chairperson Doctor Mugwena Maluleke and another board member Karabo Mohale last week.
This has added to concerns, as seven NSFAS board members have reportedly resigned since July last year, raising serious questions around lawful governance and a quorum.
Chairperson of the Higher Education Portfolio Committee, Tebogo Letsie says he has written to Manamela, to come to Parliament and explain the reasons for the resignations, as well as alleged governance failures at the entity.
