War on Iran: US Central Command says no US Navy ships have been struck in Strait of Hormuz

The US Central Command denies any of its naval ships have been struck after Iran said it hit an American warship with two missiles, forcing the vessel to turn back from the Strait of Hormuz. Tehran had issued a warning to US forces not to enter the strategic waterway. President Donald Trump earlier pledged US escort for commercial ships stranded in the Gulf, sparking threats from Iran that it would see such action as a violation to a more-than-three-week ceasefire.
