US Midterms 2026: Trump is endorsing candidates, but do they want his support? |This Is America

US President Donald Trump is campaigning across the country ahead of the November 3 midterm elections, hoping his endorsements will help Republicans retain control of Congress. But with his approval ratings under pressure, some Republican candidates are distancing themselves from his policies amid concerns that his involvement could hurt their campaigns. In Texas, Trump's endorsement of Ken Paxton has divided Republicans as the Senate candidate faces Democrat James Talarico in a closely contested race. This is America examines Trump's influence over the Republican Party, the impact of his economic and immigration policies, and whether his campaign rallies can mobilise supporters without energising Democratic voters. It also explores divisions within the GOP and the political risks and benefits of Trump's endorsements. Is Trump still an asset to Republican candidates, or is his influence becoming a liability?
