Discussion: Parliament's Section 89 Impeachment Committee begins its work

The work of parliament's Section 89 Impeachment Committee is underway, following the election of RISE Mzansi MP, Makashule Gana as its chairperson.

The 31-member committee has began preparatory work in determining whether President Cyril Ramaphosa will face impeachment regarding the Phala Phala farm saga.

The committee must now formally adopt its terms of reference and appoint an independent evidence leader

Joining the discussion is Chairperson of the Section 89 Impeachment Committee, Makashule Gana, Executive Secretary of the Council for the Advancement of the South African Constitution (CASAC), Lawson Naidoo and United Africans Transformation (UAT) President, Dr Bantu Mahlatsi.
