I was an IV drug user for years, and after an incident a long time ago I had to have two IVs in the ER. At one point my arm started swelling up around one of the sites and the pain was insane. I told the nurse, and they realized the IV had slipped out of my vein and the fluids were being pumped directly into the tissue in my arm. I honestly wonder if that’s what happened to her.

Life saving intervention at the hospital? If she said her arm felt like it was going to burst, the IV wasnt inserted correctly. They did mine wrong at the hospital and blew my vein out, it felt the same way. Now, it should be investigated weather her IV was intentionally done wrong. Why take her to the hospital tho is beyond me. If she is still appearing to be dying, let her die, it was her sentence after all.

The IV obviously is meant to go inside a vein, not into other tissue. Not all that easy to do if you're not proficient at it.
