The Eskom Expo for Young Scientists is showcasing South Africa's next generation of STEMI innovators.
Established in 1980, the programme has grown to 35 regional science fairs across the country.
Learners investigate real-world challenges and develop solutions in fields including engineering, energy, robotics and data science.
The programme also provides opportunities for learners to compete internationally and earn awards, get bursaries and global science fairs.
Organisers say the Expo is helping build a pipeline of future scientists, engineers and innovators to support South Africa's knowledge-driven economy.
Executive Director of Eskom Expo for Young Scientists Parthy Chetty joins us for more.
