However, Trump is still meeting with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, and securing a truce on energy strikes between Kyiv and Moscow would be the ideal outcome for the U.S. President during the New York meeting.

- POLAND BOOSTS DEFENSES AS RUSSIAN THREAT GROWS
More incursions into Polish airspace are expected, according to the Polish Defense Minister. In response, Poland is bolstering defenses on the country’s eastern border. Anti-drone and anti-missile systems have been relocated there, and new shelters are also being prepared.

- EU AMBASSADORS AGREE TO EXTEND SANCTIONS ON RUSSIANS
EU ambassadors agreed on the longest extension sanctions against Russia since the start of its full-scale invasion of Ukraine. But the final agreement came only after France and Luxembourg managed to remove two Russian billionaires from the list.
