Africa and African Diaspora Conference

People of African descent from across the world are expected to converge in Johannesburg in October for the second Africa and African Diaspora Conference.

The gathering will focus on finding common strategies to address the lasting effects of slavery, colonialism and imperialism, including reparatory justice, economic development, climate justice and the rights of indigenous peoples.

At a media briefing in Johannesburg, conference co-convenor Reverend Frank Chikane said while the challenges facing communities differ, the conference aims to give them a platform to collectively shape solutions.
