Modi, Putin hold talks in New Delhi ahead of BRICS summit | DW News

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Russian President Vladimir Putin have met in New Delhi ahead of this weekend's BRICS summit. The two leaders are looking to strengthen long-standing military and trade ties. Modi presented Putin with a Russian translation of an ancient Tamil text promoting virtues such as non-violence. The summit is expected to focus on the war in Ukraine and conflicts in the Middle East.
