A facelift for Telkom Towers

A R2.2 billion investment is on the cards to give the Telkom Towers complex in Pretoria a massive facelift.

Government is planning to enter into a public-private partnership to breathe new life into the troubled precinct, with the aim of transforming it into a productive, revenue-generating asset for the state.

The Telkom Towers, owned by the Public Works Department — houses the SAPS headquarters.

It has made headlines over the years in relation to poor structural conditions and maladministration that has ed to the loss of millions of rands without any accountability.

Public Works and Infrastructure Minister, Dean Macpherson, briefed the media in Pretoria earlier today, on a turnaround plan to rehabilitate the precinct.
